Youth Justice Therapist (Detention Center)
Location: Elyria, OH
Schedule: M-F 8-4 or 9-5 schedule to best meet the needs of the facility
Salary: $55,000 – $58,000 annually
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Mental Health Counseling required.
- Valid Ohio LSW, LPC required. LISW or LPCC preferred.
Position Description: The Youth Justice Center Therapist is tasked with identifying, assessing, and starting the treatment process with young men and women who are being held at the Detention Center. The therapist will be responsible for clinically assessing and diagnosing individuals referred for services as well as conducting brief counseling interventions with clients. Therapists will also develop and make recommendations for continued services and treatment for clients identified once they are released. The Youth Justice Center Therapist will also assess clients who are experiencing acute mental health emergencies and work closely with Detention staff and the psychiatrist and/or medical provider to ensure the youth are provided appropriate care and interventions.
